 I met Kathryn in Cambridge, Ontario (Canada) and have know her for more than 15 years.  We became friends through my husband who had met her at school.  She was an amazing hair stylist and I chose her to do my hair.  Over the years I watched her blossom as an artist.  After her move to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (Canada), I commissioned a few pieces from her and I could not have been more happy with the quality of her work.  Her drawings were from a photograph and looked far better than the photograph itself.  Kathryn is a true artist in ALL that she does.  Add to that, Kathryn is honest, trustworthy, steadfast, non-judgmental and a true friend!

Kathryn’s art makes me think of the professional matte paintings used in many a Hollywood Motion picture we all take for granted. These matte paintings and drawings are usually so real, you can not tell them apart from the real thing. Why she isn’t making her fortune in Hollywood alludes me? Her ability to take something she sees and draw it with such crystal clear clarity is astounding to view!
 
When I first saw her website, I could scarcely believe I was looking at pencil drawings. I thought I was looking at photographs, not drawings. Even her abstract artwork is well conceived and insightful. To then learn that she had discovered this ability in herself one day and just started doing what she does is a rare gift from God in my view. I can not do what she can. I don’t know of many people who can and I’ve met allot of people over half a century of living.
 
What she takes for granted, most marvel at in terms of talent. I certainly do. I got her horse rendering having loved horses for a long time. I was very fond of the movie The Black Stallion, starring Mickey Roonie and a young boy named Kelly Reno; which was a Frank Ford Copella film. The movie used a beautiful horse to portray the famed Black Stallion. Her rendering of a horse named “Trader” makes me think of that beautiful horse in the movie. I’m glad to have it on my fireplace mantel in my home.
 
I think Kathryn is an exceptional artist with much yet to show all of us what she can do. I’m looking forward to seeing what her future achievements will be and would love to see her have her own showing one day. She certainly is no disappointment when you view her work!

  I am a proud horse lover/owner who has had my 4 yr Trader drawn by Kathryn. I was so overwhelmed when I saw the drawing that I could not hold back my emotions. The photo like drawing was Trader to tee! The amount of detail and care taken by Kathryn was amazing. Kathryn had come out to see Trader and took some photos of him, spent time watching him to see his character and personality.
